DEPARTMENT AWARDS

2020 Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) Cup Award 

Mayo Clinic received first place (Gold Award) in the IISE Cup which recognizes organizations for innovative and effective implementation of industrial and systems engineering principles and practices that deliver exemplary business performance improvement. This award is one of IISE’s most prestigious awards given to a team and their industry. 

The Department of Management Engineering and Consulting played a key role along with a multi-disciplinary team in “Creative Collaboration for Rapid Transformation: Innovative Approaches for Reducing Hospital Readmissions.” 

2020 Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers (IISE) Outstanding Innovation in Service Systems Engineering Award  

Mayo Clinic was awarded First Place. This award recognizes organizations for the development of innovative techniques to improve the performance of service industries. Recipients of this award must show the innovative and effective implementation of industrial and systems engineering principles and practices on real applications in service institutions.  This award focused on “Opioid Stewardship & the Value of Systems Engineering.” 

In partnership with various leaders, stakeholders and subject matter experts the Department of Management Engineering and Consulting contributed significantly to the success of this initiative.  

2020-2021 AIMC Project Excellence Award

ME&C will receive the AIMC Project Excellence Award for 2020-2021. This award recognizes individual projects which have added significant value to the organization. ME&C was engaged for both the planning and execution of the Tele-Emergency Medicine Program (submitted for the award) in partnership with the Midwest Department of Emergency Medicine and the Center for Connected Care. 

2015-2016 Overall Winner of the AIMC Internal Consulting Excellence Award

The Association of Internal Management Consulting recognized ME&C for distinguished superior performance in both delivering high-quality consulting processes and realizing significant impact on the enterprise. In addition, ME&C has made significant contributions to the profession of Internal Consulting through the sharing of best practice methodologies with the global consulting community.

2014-2015 Winner of the AIMC Internal Consulting Process Category

The Association of Internal Management Consulting recognized ME&C’s internal business consulting and management engineering group for distinguished superior performance in delivering high-quality consulting processes and developing key internal consulting competencies.

2014 INFORMS Prize

The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences recognized ME&C for sustained application of advanced analytics and operations research/management science at the 2014 INFORMS Conference on Business Analytics and Operations Research in Boston, MA.
